Chelsea striker Claudio Pizzaro joined German club Werder Bremen on a year's loan on Friday. Pizzaro, 29, has been targeted by EPL newcomers Hull but the Peru international has opted for a switch to the Bundesliga.
Stoke City Chief Executive Tony Scholes has confirmed that they have bought defender Abdoulaye Faye from Newcastle United for 2.25 million pounds. Scholes said that Faye is a fantastic player with EPL experience. Faye was signed on a 3 year deal.
Everton striker Victor Anichebe has handed Everton's gaffer David Moyes another injury to worry about after admitting to playing with a knee injury in Beiging with his home country Nigeria. The Nigerians face Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the Olympic tournament but Anichebe has a knock to his knee. Anichebe says he has been getting quality treatment to the injury to give himself the best chance at the Games.
Newcastle have announced the signing of Argentina defender Fabricio Coloccini from Deprotivo La Coruna for a undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has agreed to a five year deal with Newcastle. Last season, Coloccini played every minute in La Liga for his old team.

Tottenham could sign Russian striker Andrei Arshavin as early as tonight after Zenit St Petersburg lowered their asking price for him. Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been after the Russian since his great performance for his team in Euro 2008 last June. Arshavin has scored 47 goals in 217 games for the Russian giants Zenit. Arshavin also has 37 caps for Russia. It was understood that Spurs were only willing to pay 16 million pounds for Arshavin, however Zenit were demanding at least 20 million. It now looks that the two sides have reached an agreement and Arshavin could be moving to Spurs as early as this evening.

Phew, me being a Red Bulls and Everton fan meeting the head coach of the New England Revolution not to mention being a Liverpool fan. That was a nice experience knowing that I had met one of the EPL legends and also knowing that even though we like completely different teams we were able to ave a nice conversation without killing eachother.
