Tottenham is Making A Move.....

Tottenham could sign Russian striker Andrei Arshavin as early as tonight after Zenit St Petersburg lowered their asking price for him. Spurs boss Juande Ramos has been after the Russian since his great performance for his team in Euro 2008 last June. Arshavin has scored 47 goals in 217 games for the Russian giants Zenit. Arshavin also has 37 caps for Russia. It was understood that Spurs were only willing to pay 16 million pounds  for Arshavin, however Zenit were demanding at least 20 million. It now looks that the two sides have reached an agreement and Arshavin could be moving to Spurs as early as this evening.

Euro 2008 starts

On June 7th Euro 2008 kicked off in Switzerland with the Swiss side clashing the central European side Czech Republic. Czech Republic substitute Vaclav Sverkos "crashed the party" for co-hosts Switzerland by scoring the only goal of the game to give the Czech's the 1-0 advantage when the final whistle blew. Sverkos struck after 71 minutes to defeat the home side already deflated by a knee injury to forward and captain Alexander Frei. The closest the Swiss came to having a goal was when they struck the under side of the crossbar. Karel Bruckner the Czech's coach said " they did a good job." Both teams had 3 subs and one of the subs for the czechs was Vaclav Sverkos. The other game of the day, Portugal vs Turkey turned out 2-0 in Portugal's favor.

Arsenal's Bendtner strikes to lock up Liverpool 4th place

By Alex Clark
Arsenal's Nikolas Bendtner scored against Everton in the 76th minute to give Arsenal the 1-0 advantage when the final whistle blew. After Everton lost and Liverpool beat Manchester City 1-0, the Reds locked up 4th place in the EPL.  In the Arsenal and Everton match, both teams used all 3 subs, none due to injury. Both managers thought there teams had good performances but both were disappointed of the results in the EPL. Overall, a good performance for both teams.
Go Toffees!
